Cynthia Rowley is one of my heroes. Her aesthetic in all things design whether it be fashion or home décor is wonderful. She brings a touch of whimsy to everything she does, yet it’s still classy and eclectic.
Her Manhattan townhouse is featured in October’s issue of Elle Décor and I’m drooling over these interior shots.
(How great would it be to have those bunk beds if you were a little girl? Hell, I’d take them now!)
I realized today that Cynthia has a blog on her site (adding it to the roll now). Some of her posts include things such as where you can purchase Cynthia’s outfit that she wore the previous night while judging on Design Star.
Here are some dresses I’m loving from her latest collection.
Also an author, I may have to pick up her most recent book, Slim: A Fantasy Memoir. From Amazon:
Following the success of her Swell books, Cynthia Rowley presents Slim: A Fantasy Memoir, a collection of stories that are part memoir and part fiction and accompanied by over 40 of her own original drawings. Slim is written and illustrated in Rowley’s inimitable style, candid, fun, and imaginative, and recounts tall tales from her childhood through her early days as a fashion designer. From ‘luxury camping’ under a chandelier formed of flashlights to a runway show in Candyland, Rowley’s anecdotes drift seamlessly between daydreams and reality. Slim: A Fantasy Memoir will appeal to readers of all ages…
From the interviews I’ve seen of Cynthia and her appearances on Design Star, she seems really down to earth and unaffected by all this fame. She’s that girl that appears to be great at everything she attempts but keeps a level head. So inspiring!
