How cool is this? Fresh Pressed is a walk-in screenprint shop in Los Feliz, CA. I’m so jealous of local residents…I am gonna have to start a petition to have one of these started in the Short North here in C-bus. I think it would thrive in that kind of neighborhood.

First of its kind, FreshPressed™ allows users of all ages and all skill levels to make truly unique, one-of-a-kind screenprinted wearables, gifts and goods for themselves, loved ones, clients and customers. Gone are the days of limited typefaces that were prechosen for you. No longer must you resort to using iron-on transfers to produce that gift for a friend. No more creating online and waiting eagerly for your item to show up (or not) via mail. No longer must you order more items than you need to fulfill the minimum requirements of your local printer.

I love the vintage laundromat feel it has, with old washing machines serving as surfaces for the screenprinting process. Here is owner Jonathan Sample giving a video tour of the shop:

I think my friend Jeff, who recently moved out to Burbank, needs to whip up some custom tees STAT.

psssssst. May not be on the same scale, but Daniel Fox over at is opening a retail/design shop on High St in Clintonville on 9/3 (grand opening party 7:00pm on 9/2). There are going to be two in-store design stations so you can walk in, design, and then walk out with your own custom t-shirt. On-demand, mass customization is alive and well in C-bus.

Nice! I’ll definitely be making a shirt soon and let you know how it goes. Los Feliz is just east of Hollywood, so I can swing past on the commute. 😀
