Would you pay $140 for shampoo if it guaranteed you amazing hair everyday? This question is asked in the August issue of Lucky magazine in regard to Philip B’s Russian Amber Imperial Shampoo. Beauty editor Jean Godfrey-June claims that the shampoo makes her hair look as if it was styled by a $700/hr stylist and the look can last for up to three days. Sounds pretty great, but then there’s the price point of this miracle shampoo.
After I got over my initial audible “guffaw”, I started to think about it. $140 is definitely a lot of money, but what about other disposable products people spend money on that are considered totally acceptable? Designer perfume? An expensive bottle of champagne or wine? One night out at a 5-star restaurant? Jean says this little tub of beauty magic lasts a mysteriously long time. Probably much longer than a bottle of Dom Perignon. I would love to try it, but I have a feeling that samples of this gem don’t come free. Can anyone out there vouch for what Lucky is claiming?

Comment by mb Tuesday, July 14, 2009 @ 10:57 amI want to know what’s in it. If the ingredient list appears totally different than any other bottle on the shelf, I’d be intrigued.
